Somnath Temple is revered very highly in Hinduism and is situated in Saurashtra region of Gujarat. This temple which is thousands of years has been attacked multiple times by Islamist forces from the North West of India. Often considered to be one of the richest temples, the looters were able to amass wealth even after 17th attack. It is also one of the 12 Jyotirlingas and is dedicated to Shiva.
